About Ledgerline
Free financial calculators, plain-language articles, and news — styled like a ledger, because clarity matters more than decoration.
Why Ledgerline
Most financial calculators online bury a simple formula under clutter, ads, or vague results. Ledgerline was built around the opposite idea: show the number clearly, show the formula behind it, and give enough context — worked examples, plain-language explanations, a short FAQ — that the result actually means something to you.
The name comes from the ledger: the classic tool of bookkeeping, where every entry is a clear row, and every total is honest about what went into it. That’s the standard we hold every calculator to.
What We Offer
Tools. Twenty free calculators covering interest and growth, loans and debt, investing and retirement, and everyday savings and budgeting — each with its formula, a couple of worked examples, and answers to the questions people actually ask about that topic.
Articles. Plain-language explainers on how the math behind personal finance actually works, without unnecessary jargon.
News. Coverage of rates, policy changes, and market moves that affect the numbers you’re calculating.
Who It’s For
Anyone who wants a straight answer to a financial “what if” — what a mortgage payment would actually be, how fast a credit card balance disappears with a bigger payment, what a portfolio could look like in twenty years — without creating an account or exporting a spreadsheet.
Independence
Ledgerline is not a bank, lender, broker, or registered investment advisor, and isn’t affiliated with any specific financial institution. Our calculators are built on standard, publicly documented financial formulas — not any one company’s product terms. See our Financial Disclaimer for the full picture on how to use these tools responsibly.
